The major population of Galkot belongs to ethic communities of chhetei and Barahmins. Small groups of people such as Newari, Gurung, Magar, Thakali, Durgy, Sharky also live here and they speak their own language in their community. But in the public place they all speak National language Nepali. The Majority of the population of the Galkot belongs to the Hinduism.
