Ghumte

                     Ghumte hill is the highest hill in the Baglung district. It’s also taken as honor of Galkot. From of the top of it we can see many place of the Nepal. It is a beautiful hill full of Nepalese National flower Rhododendron during the spring season. Every person who visits the Galkot they want to climb up the Ghumte and see the romantic sense. Every year on Baishak purnima as a festival of Buddha Purnima most people go there. On Ghumte lakh we can find many historical and religious instruments. On top of the Ghumte lakh,there is a famous temple named Siddha Baba. Near it there is famous cave name Bhairav cave. Every year people go inside this cave and try to search about the cave.
Ghumte (Glory of Galkot)
                           In matter of Bharav Darbar or Bharav palace 24th state kings name also attached. In 1665 to 1670 Gorkha's king Ram shah also come Galkot. When he lived Galkot he was gone top of Ghumte. After worshiping the siddha Baba and Bharav he seeks and observes the beauty and romantic sense of Ghumte. At that time he found extraordinary cave. He like it much and wanted to live there. Than people called it palace because king Ram shah live there. It is also Called Ramcha Cave.
                           Here another important and historical thing is that there is an extraordinary stick. In local language is called Bhimsen stick. It is remaining now as a statue. It carries a long history. Lack of reliable proof we are unable to explain about it. It is believed that Ghumte hill has traces of gold mine. Most part of the Ghumte is covered with forest. Inside the forest we can find different kinds of wild animals such as tiger, dear fox, and so on as well as we can find diffetent kinds of beautiful birds. Ghumte is very much for herbal medicine such as satuwa, panchoula, silagit etc.
                     Really Ghumte is a beautiful and romantic hill. The people who lives in Galkot and even who go away from the Galkot love the Ghumte very much.So people write the song include the Ghume and people who write poem they also put the Ghumte in their poem, One year ago Ghumte festival is orginazed by the Galkot inhabitants’ to share the news about the Galkot which help us to attracts the tourist. In future people made a plane that in Ghumte a cabul ropeway is going to build. After it will be very easy to go peck of the Ghumte and also it become a main tourist sector in this area.





Rivers in Galkot (Dharam and Gaudi)

                  There is no doubt that Nepal is blessed with natural beauty and diversity. Galkot a place situated in mid western pate of Baglung district which is full of natural beauty. There are many natural resources in Galkot. Among them water resource is more important sources of Galkot. There are more than fifty big and small rivers in Galkot. Among them Dharam and Gaudi rivers are big and more important rivers in Galkot. Dhram River is located in the center of between Hatiya and Harichor Bazar. It follows form north east to south west. At the bank of the river there is big plane area where farmers cultivate. From the Dharam river local people product electric and provide different part of the Galkot area.
Beautiful water Fall
                     Gaudi River is another big river in Galkot. It is follows north side of Hatiya Bazar and south side of Narathai Bazar. They flow cautiously making a sweet music. In bank of the rivers there is big plane area. In local language is call Majuwo fath. It soil is very fertile. So, the rivers are contributing to lots of farmers. It plays a vital role in the agricultural development in Galkot. We can find more than one hundred different kinds of fish in these rivers. From these rivers people generating electricity so, more than 40% people take benefits from this electricity. Bank of the Dhram and Gaudi rivers is suitable for picnic. So, some people are going to picnic at the bank of the rivers. Students used to have physical education class for a hour a daily. During the summer season people go for swimming and fishing in Dharam and Gaudi rivers in raining seasons there is possible to do Rafting in the both rivers. So they are the gift which is given by nature.

              In Galkot there is one interesting thing is a natural waterfall. In local language is called Gaigat jharana. Its meaning is that it has emerged from atone. Nobody could stay without dealing spell bong seeing this. It sounds quite different that waterfall has fallen from stone and it is great mystery that how the water emerged from stone and it is falling continuously. Evers years there lots of tourist come to see and observe. In Galkot there are others streaming which flows only the raining season.

Galkot Travel Destination

Mountain From Where Paraglading is successfrlly examine
                 Beautiful place Galkot located in the hilly area to the west of Baglung Bazar. It is surrounded by green beautiful hills. The two beautiful rivers flow through Galkot from east to west. It is consider as one travel destination. According to the observation of scholars two rivers Dharam and Gaudi is a suitable for Rafting. From the top place of Galkot we can see many beautiful Himalayas ranges which are very attractive. The more attractive place in Galkot is Ghumte which is 3120m high from the sea level. In Ghume we can find some historical things. There is one Temple is called Siddha Baba and beautiful cave where the king Ram shah was lived. As well as in Ghute there is Bhimsen stick. In present it is remain as statue and also from Ghumte we can see different part of the Nepal.In Galkot we can see interesting waterfall is called Gaighat. There is some Historical Temple which is located Hatiya VDC in Kot Maidan.In local language is called Maithan and Khadka temple which character are given another topic. It was made by late king who ruled in Galkot. Inside it there are some old weapons which are used in war. Every in the accusation of the Vijay Dasami and chhatra mahaastami in this people worship scarify the buffalo, goat hen and release the pigeon.
In Galkot there is good facility of Hotel, restaurant. There is clean drinking water. This place is connected of Baglung bazaar with raw road. There is good facility of Newspaper. Every year in different part of Galkot different kinds of fair is organized. Whereas various cast people shows their own cultural and ritual performance. It helps us to develop the tourism.

Education aspect of Galkot

                    Galkot lies in western part of Baglung district. It is cool and peacfull place with full of natural beauties. Galkot is like valley because it is surrounded by big and small green hills. The education aspect of Galkot is considered as satisfiable. In Galkot area about 15 Higher secondary, 5 Higher secondary school,more than 15 lower secondary and more than 25 primary schools are running . There is one campus name Galkot Multiple Campus. In this campus more than 100 students are studying. There are some Private schools such as New life English Boarding school, Sumbuddha English Boarding school Laligurash English Boarding school etc.
Galkot Higher S. School With Students
                    In the reference of Galkot, Galkot Higher secondary school is the oldest school in the Galkot area. First it was established in 2008 as a form of Gaumukhi School .It was change through the time and it was become Middle school in 2017, Galkot secondary school in 2022 and it was become Galkot Higher secondary in 2053 and after some time Galkot Multiple Campus was established. In this school student presser is high than other school. It faces different kinds of problem but gradually it trying solves them. There is not support by the government but from the local people it gets fully support. Students come from various communities.

                 In the past there is only two building, so it is very difficult. But at presents there are three building. It was vast change than the past. In this COPPADES has provided five sets computers, one printer and one network cable. So, school there is a facility of computer, Internet, sport court, educational instruments, and so on. All the teachers are trained and capable. In this school there are four faculties such as commerce, education, humanities and from this year science faculty is add so it helps students who want to study science. They cannot go out for science study.

                 There is another school name Mahendra Higher secondary school which is located Narethati Bazr. The parents of most students in the school are small and low income farmers. The community is a mixed society with Birmins, Chhetri, Magar, Gurung and so on. Here also COPPADES has provided five computer sets, one printer and one Network cauble. Another Schools chauraha secondary school which is located in Dhodalavhati, Prithivi Higher secondary school, is located in Harchour Bazar. Lack of enough reliable facts we are unable to explain totally.

Kot Temple (Glory of the Galkot)

          Galkot is the Beautiful place, located western part of the Baglung district which carries a long history of Nepal. In past it was a one strong state among twenty four states. Galkot is full of natural beauties, there are some small and big mountain around the Galkot such as Gaga mountain is in the east of Galkot which is cover with green trees, at the middle of the mountain there is SKY phone’s tower is which support all sky phone of Galkot as well as Burtibang mountain in the north of Galkot as well we can see some of Himalayas range in the north of Galkot. In west there is Ghumte. In Galkot there is some old temple which is full of different kinds of historical arts which play a vital role to protect Historical important of Galkot.

Mai Temple
             In Galkot different religious people are live. Most of the people live in Galkot are Hindus but there is no any discrimination between different religious, they have unity between different religious people. Western part of Galkot, 400m from the sea level there is a religious place. In local language we call Kot Maidan. Five meter high from the Maidan there is temple name khadka and Bhatwati. Khadka temple is a kot ghar (weapons house), inside this house we can see different kinds of swards which are used for war by the Primitive king who ruled in Galkot area. But in present people worship as a Khadka God. Beside from the kot Ghar there is another temple which is full of primitive artsa. It is surrounded by the Pine tree where different kinds of birds live and singing. Southern part of the kot ghar there is another Kalika temple in local language we call Mai Than.Inside it there are beautiful statue and different types of man head which are made by stone and mud. Around the temple there are many bells. Around the temple there is also green forest where different kinds of wild animals are live. So, the place is very quiet and pleasant. When people go there they feel delight. Every vijaya Dashami and chhatra Dashan priest lives ten days and worship as a form of Nova Durga. Every part of the Galkot as well as other part of the country people go there and worship. Peoples have belief that Khadka God, Bhatwati and Kalika fulfill what they want. People scarify buffalo, goat, hen and they release pigeon to the temple and beg bless for long and pleasant life.

           Under these temple there is big bar place and one small school. Every chhatra dashain there is a big fair which is organize by local club. In the occasion of Chhatra Maastami there is big singing and dancing competition is organized. Different parts of Galkot’s people take participation and show their own cultural performance. Most people of the Galkot sing salijo, sorsthi which protect the local culture. In this program national artist also go there for entertainment. Apart from the dashain this place is most suitable for the picnic. Different part of the Galkot’s people goes there for picnic because there is good facility of water enough planes place and foul.
